What to Look Out for On Your Roof in Las Vegas

By Jay – All About Roofing

Hey there — it’s Jay from All About Roofing. If you’re a homeowner here in Las Vegas, you already know the weather out here doesn’t play around. Between the sun beating down all day, the surprise wind gusts, and the occasional desert downpour, your roof goes through a lot.

So, I wanted to share a few quick things you can look out for to help keep your roof in good shape — nothing complicated, just stuff I’ve seen over the years that tends to pop up around here.

  • Shingles that look cooked

Vegas sun is no joke. Over time, your shingles can get dried out, start curling at the edges, or even crack. If you see any spots that look a little off or uneven, it might be time for a closer look.
  • Gunk in your gutters or roof valleys

We don’t get a ton of rain, but when it hits, it usually comes fast. If leaves, branches, or debris pile up in those low spots on your roof or clog your gutters, it can trap water and cause leaks down the line.
  • Wind-blown damage

Vegas winds can sneak up on you. After a strong wind day, it’s a good idea to take a quick look around. Missing shingles, lifted corners, or any pieces of flashing that look loose are things you’ll want to catch early.
  • Stains on your ceiling

If you notice any yellow or brown spots on your ceilings or upper walls inside your home, don’t ignore them. It could be a slow roof leak — and those always get worse over time
  • Bottom line? A little attention now can save you from a big headache later. If you ever want a second opinion, feel free to reach out — we offer free roof inspections anywhere in Las Vegas.

    Stay safe,
    Jay
